Pearls are a soft gemstone and require special care. Avoid sudden temperature changes. Do not get perfume, cosmetics or hair products on your pearls as this can dull the luster. Gently wipe perspiration off of pearls with a soft cloth and have your strands of pearls restrung once a year if you wear them often.
